What to expect?

Initial meeting

During the meeting one of our Probate Solicitors will discuss the application with you and answer any legal questions you may have.

Preparing documents

After the issue of a death certificate, we will prepare all the applicable court documents for you.

Signing & witnessing

Once the documents are finalised, you can sign the documents at our office and have your signature properly witnessed.

Duration

The courts take between 6-12 weeks on average to make a Grant of Probate. If urgent, we can have it done in a matter of days.

No upfront fees

You won't be out-of-pocket. We will bill the deceased estate once we have successfully applied for the grant.

Probate is the process of proving and registering in the Supreme Court the last Will of a deceased person. An application for a grant of probate (or letters of Administration if there is no Will) is the first step in the legal process of administering the estate of a deceased person.

1. Grant of Probate

If the deceased made a valid Will appointing an Executor, the application to the court will be for a grant of Probate to enable the Executor to administer the estate assets.
